ONE TIME ENGAGEMENT

Have a block party, birthday party, community meeting, or just want to offer something fun for your community? We can help! In order to fully understand what you're looking for and the needs of your community, we request a meeting or phone call up to three weeks in advance of the event. We prefer to work around a key theme or question to focus our art making time and strive to work close to the ground. Meaning, we prefer not to be used as tools to pick the communities brain, but as a way to work alongside what is already happening in and with the community. After meeting with us, we will provide a short proposal and cost breakdown including the materials that we source primarily from Lancaster Creative Reuse and donations. Our standard rate includes preparation and planning, supplies, travel, and our time.

Open Streets 2019 (painted tiles project)
Block Parties became part of Art Pop early on. Block party's a great way to get input quickly and create a massive collaborative work of art with your community. The painted tiles project was displayed on the Culliton Park fence for a year with most tiles being made during Open Streets and the SoWe Block Party! We completed over 200 tiles in a paint one, take one style program. This is just one example of a one-time engagement that we can facilitate.

Love Notes to a Park 2018
Love Notes started as a one time engagement and is a great example of how we can start a project for a community to engage in that lasts much longer than one interaction. Love Notes encouraged community members to write down memories, laments, hopes, and dreams for the public park before it was slated for renovation. Love notes utilized 100% recycled materials and lasted 2 years before it was removed for the park renovation. Periodically we visited the park and found photographs, make-shift tiles, ribbons, and other methods of communicating tied inside the heart.
Art Pop (mini murals project)
Mini murals (or Scale UP! is a one-time engagement that occurred periodically over the course of Art Pop Summer 2019. Part of a conversation for the mini murals was discussing communication using visual means on a slightly larger scale than we are accustomed to. What does it mean to design something that will speak to your community? What do you want them to see or take away from your message? We walk through making a sketch, crafting your message, and creating a simplified drawing to create an effective message.
