RESIDENTIAL MURAL GUIDELINES
Thank you for thinking of me as your potential creative project! Before we meet I like to share my working style and fees upfront. Please read carefully below:
- Mural painting pricing is dependent on scale, state of the wall, any ladders or other equipment needed for height, and method of application. I start at $100/hour for most projects.
- I do not repair walls nor do I typically coordinate things like lift rentals, sidewalk closures, or communicating with neighbors if they might be impacted by closures, parking space movement etc. If you are unable to coordinate these things, I am willing to but will require a Project Management fee (usually $150/hour of project management)
- I typically use NovaColor paints. The MSDS and general safety of these paints can be found here: https://novacolorpaint.com/pages/faq
- For murals in nurseries or indoors with no ventilation, I am comfortable prioritizing use of low to no VOC paints.
- I do not work with leftover or gifted paint in most cases. Paint expires and we can't always predict what happens to stored paint.
- If you are interested in including personal touches (children or pet's marks, imagery from old photos etc.) to your in home mural, let's talk about it!
- I will not copy someone else's artwork nor will I work from AI generated imagery.
- After a chemistry meeting where I will take a look at the space you are interested in me painting, I require at least 7 days to process our discussion and submit a sketch. I typically offer one round of revisions in my base rate and any subsequent revisions would be an additional fee.
- Artwork and conception sketches must be ultimately owned by me.
- Sketches or concept work are only provided after a signed agreement is secured.
- A deposit of $50 must be fulfilled prior to meeting in person or virtually to go over proposals and sign a contract with a timeline (if appropriate)**
- Materials are included in the pricing in addition to labor and is dependent on the state of the wall, location (indoor/outdoor) and any prepping or priming that might be necessary.
- Lift or scaffolding rental can be incorporated but a separate project management fee will need to be discussed if the client is not going to/able to coordinate lift or scaffolding rental.
